Prague, Czech Republic.
Travel day (26th January 2024)
Now here I am on my second solo adventure in Prague, Czech Republic 🇨🇿. Rocky start as flight was delayed by just over an hour due to an issue with the hydraulic system for the brakes on the plane, not worrying at all ..... 😂🙈. Anyways made it safely to Prague, the company on the app get your guide for my private transfer were amazing !! They watched my flight and knew when I was due so I didn't get stranded at the airport, they were super quick at replying to my email so I didn't have to worry at all, totally recommend 👌(Called Prague Airport Transfers). Made it to my botel ! (Admiral Botel) looks stunning, it is beautiful 😍 loved it. This I booked on booking.com, its called Botel Admiral and cost me £160 for 3 nights including breakfast which i thought was a bargin. It was only about a 20min walk into the old town.
Day 1 (27th January 2024):
I walked 25,000 steps !! Literally walked everywhere! At 8.30am I walked from my botel to Charles Bridge, took me around 30mins to walk there and felt safe the whole time, even stopped on the way for a picture by the river, also helped another person take a photo as well, it was nice and quiet at that time so it was lovely to walk to, I get a bit anxious thinking about a taxi abroad because you just don't know if they are going to charge you too much, from the Charles bridge I walked into the old town this was about 5 mins walk and saw the astronomical clock which again was pretty cool to see, there were plenty of people around by then and was starting to get busy so i moved on and went onto the the dancing house.
Took few pictures from the outside and then realised they had a rooftop bar so got the lift to the 7th floor, you have to either pay a couple of Czech Koruna or buy a drink to go onto the terrace so of course I brought myself a beer and went out onto the terrace. Totally worth it. Wow such amazing views ! 😍. I text a girl I met on the app NomadHer called Nur, she is from Turkey, we had discussed meeting in Prague prior to going on the trip so was nice that we met there and at about 12 o'clock she met me in the bar on the 7th floor, she was really lovely, we had a chat about places we had been and would like to go before we walked to the Staropramen brewery we done the tour there that cost 419 Czech koruna which equates to £14, that included 6 taster beers, tried all 6 beers and had some chicken strips which were lovely. After the brewery we walked another 40 mins to the Prague Tower, walked up a massive hill and what seemed to be 1000s of steps !! I died! We made it though and wow what views from there !! Incredible scenery. We saw the guards outside the castle and walked through the grounds, the architecture is beautiful.
Once we had finished walking round the castle we then walked back across Charles Bridge and into the old town, grabbed a coffee before parting ways.
I walked back to my botel, I was cream crackered ! Just chilled out all evening from 5pm watching stranger things from the beginning with my water and my pringles haha. Slept like a log!
Day 2 (28th January 2024)
Up bright and early again, up for breakfast and then I decided I would walked to the pissing men statue, this was another walk towards the castle so another 40mins, just about recovered from yest but glad I did walk down there as the statue was very different and interesting to read about, I started feeling a bit peckish so walked back over the Charles bridge and found a restaurant i was recommended by a friend called the fat cat beer house, I noticed on the menu they had a beer selection so of course I did the tasting of 7 beers and had some food, had a philly cheesesteak flatbread pizza thing ! Was amazing with curly fries loaded with bacon and cheese! Omg! I certainly had eyes much bigger than my belly but it was so yummy, I had to take some sway with me.
Once I had finished I decided to walk back to botel dropped food to my room then walked 2m down road to this bar on the river, again lovely views, had a beer, so picturesque 😍👌, stayed until about 3pm, The advantage of travelling solo was I could just relax and do what I wanted so even though it was early I just went back to my room at the botel to chilled & watched some more stranger things.
Day 3 (29th January 2024)
Home time. Had a bit of breakfast and came back to the room, just relaxing before being picked up at 12.15. I have got time to walk but I want to save my energy as I know today will be a long day with travelling. Flight is at 16.35 so I will find somewhere in the airport to get a drink and maybe something to eat before departure. The taxi company again were very good, picked me up on time and got me to the airport. I did get a little lost as didn't realise I had to walk to the other terminal but soon found my way, just had a burger king, the airport was odd as you didn't go through security until you got to the gate but a nice airport as they go, however I did have another hr delay on the way home, had to de-ice the plane.
Home and another trip done and loved it! Roll on Brussels.
