 Norfolk (22.11.2024)

Travel Day.

Excited to be travelling to Norfolk today 🙂. Was a good journey that only took a couple of hours. As I came into Norwich I drove past the footie stadium, which was a weird one, and looked very squished in comparison to what it looks like on the TV. Got there about an hr before Chris train was due so just had a walk for a couple of mins until I was freezing! Weather was nice and sunny, blue skies but baltic cold!

Sat in wetherspoons for a bit in the warm before meeting Chris back at the car so could drop stuff off. Went for a walk into town centre towards Brewdog and had a look around, had an hr or so before the pub opened so went for a lovely coffee before getting my next BD stamp 🙂.

Not much to walk around in the centre so had a quick look at the cathedral which looked lovely before heading back to the car.

Headed towards the hotel which was a 40 min drive, and was going to stop in at the winter wonderland but annoyingly didn’t open until 5pm and didn’t want to drive all the way back in the dark, especially as the hotel we were staying was down single track country roads. We checked in at the hotel, Scarborough country inn, which was lovely! The room was massive, like having your own little flat, had a bedroom, lounge and bathroom, was massive. We ended up having a nice indian takeaway, both loved that.

Day 1 (23.11.2024)

Weather was awful when we woke up, storm Bert was well and truly here, it was really windy and chucking it down. Luckily on the drive to the hotel we noticed there was a brewery nearby. We decided to pop to Sainsburys first and grab some drink and snacks before going to the brewery, we decided against the tour as it was so wet and windy but they had a lovely pub attached to the brewery shop called The Fur & Feather which was really nice, had a nice fire to sit in front of. We stayed there for about 3-4 hours just chilling and chatting. Decided to have a late lunch/dinner whilst we were there to save coming out again later on, we ordered a couple of pizzas, halloumi and chips, which was a lot but very nice! We ended up having a pizza to take back which done us for snacks later on in the evening with our Christmas films.

Day 2 (24.11.2024)

Off to Nottingham today, we had breakfast before heading off. The hotel had a lovely breakfast, both cooked and continental, certainly recommend staying there and would go again. Took us about 3 hrs from Norfolk to Nottingham but didn’t seem that long as the roads were good and no traffic. Got there about 12, dumped the car and walked into town to get another BD stamp.  Found another little taphouse to try whilst we was there before having a walk round, we found a nice irish bar to go to so headed there for a drink, when we got there they had a live singer on, so we had a few before heading over to Nandos for some dinner, we was then going to get the taxi back to hotel but we decided to walk around the Christmas winter wonderland which was lovely, really enjoyed that before we ended up back in the irish bar as another singer was on, we had such a good evening.

Day 3 (25.11.2024)

Last day and home time, just chilled out before we headed home, always sucks having to drop Chris off at the train station before I head home but we know it's not long until Iceland. Got home about 13.00, sorted washing, food and chilled. Ready for the next adventure.
